Gorodishche: Unity with the Landscape
The Gorodishche project is a prime example of a landscape that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. The primary objective was to preserve the existing relief and highlight the authentic character of the site. We avoided complex artificial forms in favor of natural lines and materials that resonate with the local environment.
The garden is structured around the interplay of open grassy areas and dense, textured plantings. We focused on a palette of perennial grasses and shrubs that create a sense of wild nature, yet remain orderly and well-maintained throughout the year.
Project Philosophy and Materials
The use of natural stone and wood in the hardscape elements bridges the gap between the modern architecture of the house and the untamed beauty of the landscape. Strategic lighting was installed to emphasize the texture of the plants and the depth of the garden during the evening hours, creating a calm and contemplative atmosphere.
This garden is designed to evolve gracefully. As the trees and shrubs mature, the boundaries between the man-made garden and the surrounding forest will continue to blur, creating a truly timeless space for relaxation and inspiration.
