Binary Garden: The Synthesis of Nature and Mathematics
The Binary Garden project in Semkovo is a study of contrast and balance. The design is built upon the strictness of landscape lines, the lightness of natural plantings, and a modern interpretation of classical regular gardens. We focused on the synthesis of nature and mathematics, creating a space where architectural geometry coexist with the free spirit of plants.
The garden structure is defined by a clear hierarchy and orderly layout. We used precise haircuts for the shrubs to provide year-round framework, while the flower beds introduce dynamics and a variety of textures. This approach gives the garden a sense of stability and peace, making it a perfect extension of the house’s architecture.
Design Philosophy
Our goal was to create a modern regular garden that doesn’t feel overly formal. By combining elements of traditional planning with contemporary plant selections, we achieved a soft but structured environment. The interplay of shadows, the various shades of green, and the clean lines of the paths all contribute to the “binary” nature of the site — a dialogue between human order and natural growth.
This garden is designed to grow more beautiful over time, with each season revealing new aspects of its geometric and organic components. It is a story of harmony, where every line is intentional and every plant has its place.
