Bulgarian Expansion — Mountain & Sea

The Old Oak is proud to announce a significant milestone in our journey. This February, we officially open our Mediterranean chapter with a new permanent studio in Bulgaria. From the rugged peaks of the Balkan Mountains to the sun-drenched shores of the Black Sea, we are bringing our signature “full-cycle” approach to one of Europe’s most diverse landscapes.

Resilience Meets the Sun

Our expansion into Bulgaria isn’t just about new locations; it’s about the evolution of our craft. We are merging the northern structural resilience that defined our early years with the professional quality required for the Balkan climate. Whether it’s a coastal villa in Varna or a mountain retreat in Bansko, we ensure architecture and nature coexist in perfect harmony.

We don’t just build; we restore the natural balance of the land.

“Expansion for us means deeper roots. In Bulgaria, we found a unique dialogue between stone, sea, and ancient forests—a perfect canvas for The Old Oak’s philosophy of enduring quality.”

— Dmitry Borovitsky, Founder of The Old Oak

Strategic Focus: Three Key Regions

Our Bulgarian studio focuses on three distinct ecological zones, each requiring a specialized touch:

01. The Black Sea Coast

Expertise in salt-tolerant planting, wind-resistant infrastructure, and contemporary Mediterranean gardens for seaside estates in Varna and Burgas.

02. Mountain Retreats

Structural renovation and landscaping designed to withstand heavy snow and temperature swings, preserving the rustic soul of mountain homes.

03. Urban Modernization

Comprehensive interior and exterior modernization for properties in Sofia and Plovdiv, focusing on sustainable materials and green living.

Operational Excellence in the Balkans

Our commitment to a “full-cycle” mastery remains unchanged in our new chapter:

Native Provenance: We partner with local Bulgarian nurseries to ensure every plant has the genetic strength to thrive in its microclimate.

Artisanal Craft: Our team integrates traditional Bulgarian stone-working techniques with modern European architectural standards.

Eco-Friendly Materials: Prioritizing local timber and stone to reduce the carbon footprint of every renovation project.
